need criteria to show last 5 records

Is there a way to put criteria in a query that will choose the last 5 records that have been entered into a table. I want to make a query that will allow me to average the last 5 records from a table. The field that has the data is updated frequently.

sort you query accordingly, then go to the Properties of your Query (View -> Properties) and set the property "Top Values" to 5.
