Hi,
My names Mike and I'm an archaeologist working at Newcastle University in the UK. I specialise in locating and researching the wrecks of transatlantic slave ships between 1600-1880 using archival data.
I'm currently working on a joint project between George Washington University the Smithsonian Museum to create a database of slave shipwrecks/voyages and I'll undoubtedly be asking for quite a bit of help.
I'm fairly computer literate (for an archaeologist) and have some very basic coding knowledge of LUA but know absolutely nothing about VBA although I'm very willing to learn.
My knowledge of Access is currently limited to single table flat form databases, although I'm hoping the database I eventually build will end up on a Sharepoint server allowing multiple users to edit it. I'm still in the design phase at the moment and am working on creating forms and many-to-many relationships which is stumping me quite badly. I've popped a question in the Forms subforum and would appreciate any input anyone has on how to go about solving my problem.
Thanks for reading and I look forwards to taking part in the community.
Regards,
Mike
