I have used splitter so my colleagues can use the front end of the database. I would like to know if there is a way to be informed if new records have been entered into the database at the back end?

I'm getting there, eventually!!!!

Matisse,

You can add a new field DateEntered and use the
BeforeInsert event on your entry form to set it
to Now().

Then you can use a simple query to see which
records have been entered since a certain time
or over the last n days.

Wayne,

Many thanks for your reply. But what I really wanted to do was be informed by email that a new record had been added. I know there is options like command buttons and hyperlinks, but this opens up an email for the person to type in. What I want is for the person to add a new record and click a SEND button, for me to alerted but not for the email to open to the user.

Does that really make any sense at all?????

The simplest way would be to use the DoCmd.SendObject statement in code and customise all its arguments to your own specification.
