Hello all

Anyone got spare hair???? I just been pulling all mine out....lol

I have a form with just words and instructions on it, NO FIELDS AT ALL.

In that form I have put a subform. When I open the main form the subform is there just fine in Datasheet view as I want. It shows every single record I have in it's related table (tblTransactionListing). I want the subform to open blank ready to accept a new record. If I change the control to Data Entry = Yes, the subform opens as I want but then I get the message "You cannot add or change a record because a related record is required in the tblAccountsListing". I do not get that message if I add a new record when ALL the records are showing.

Can someone please help me out here as to what control or linking etc I need to look at to fix it.

Thanks so much

Daisy

Sounds like your subform container control has Master/Child links defined (which makes me think your main form has a recordsource even though it shouldn't. So, to fix it do this:

1. Open the Main Form and look at its RECORDSOURCE property. If there is one there, remove it - since you are only doing instructions.

2. Click on the subform control in the main form to select it and go look at the Master and Child link properties and remove anything there.

3. Set your Subform to DataEntry YES as you have tried.

Thanks so much
