Hey, I'm just getting a sense of how this works by just making my first post. I've been working in Access for the past 4 years and don't particularly love it. However, I get paid pretty well and am learning a lot. I got a degree in accounting and am on my path to becoming an Object Oriented programmer. Accounting became way to boring.

Welcome. Accounting departments are a target-rich environment for Access developers. ;)

Just a word of advice (not different than Paul's comment, really). There is a career in being a middle-man. You know accounting. But if you ALSO know Access well enough to build accounting apps using it, you become a multi-threat person, a person who can speak the language of the people with problems needing solutions and at the same time a person who can speak the language of a potential solution for their problems. I did that for more years than I care to count. Retired from a job where I did that about 30-40% of my week. Salary was not bad. Yes, I got paid pretty well, too!

To be honest, Access is a tool we love to hate, so we can understand your feelings. Which means you'll fit in here pretty well once you figure out the lay of the land.

Oh, and by the way... Welcome!
