No records..

i have a problem with microsoft access 2003 - when i want to create a query or a report by using wizard, there are no records to select so creating them is not possible. ive tried uninstalling/installing it again and even uninstalling/installing OFFICE 2003 but it doesnt seem to make a difference. the records are not there to use. please help, thanks.

If in fact you have records in a table(s) like Rich asked......


I dealt with this issue a few days back with an individual. I had him post his DB but I was able to see fields in queries and reports where he could not. I had him send me a screen capture and yep, there were no fields there. In the end it turned out that the individual had recently installed some type of antivirus program on the computer. Once that was disabled and/or removed the fields were then visible in the query(s) and report(s).
Very strange indeed.

yeh i think that may be the problem. i do have records in tables but the records are invisible when creating queries/reports/forms. i tried opening my database on my other computer and the records wer visible so it worked there but then a couple of days later i tried it on the same computer and the records wer gone. it probably is a program or anti-virus thats stopping this. i'll try that then. thanks alot

Kaspersky Anti-Virus

i disabled my anti-virus and it done the job - the records are visible now

the problem is Kaspersky Anti-Virus, it must have a protection on databases because when ever i open ACCESS a message appear saying "are you sure you want to open file" and something about "could be virus in macros". and what made it more certain that it is Kaspersky is that when i tried my database on my other computer and it worked, i had Norton running on that and then i changed it to Kaspersky and the problem appeared again.

so the cause is Kaspersky Anti-Virus and its all good now. THANKS ALOT
