Hi Guys..

I need to be able to write data to two fields using the not in list event for a combo box.

My form has a combo box that has set the row source to display the city and country field from the tblCityCountries. I can achieve writing the data to the city field, though also want to write to the country field.

Attached is a sample db to show, code for adding the data to city field.

Any help guys, cheers..

Hi Pat, thanks for your reply.

Though this is not what I am after, if you have a look at the sample db, I can write a new city to the combo box on the form, by entering the data into the combo box and then it displays a message box to confirm that I want to add a new value. But the combo box displays the city and coutry field together. I want to be able to write a new entry for both fields, by entering the data into the combo box.

At present I can do that for the city though not for the country, I know how to do the explanation you gave me, though is it possible for what I am requesting to write a new entry into the combo box for two fields, ie. the city and country, so that I do not need to open another pop up form?

Any ideas?

Greatly appreciated...

I'd stick to opening a form or redesign the original form. I've tried that approach with FirstName & LastName and found it too buggy. I did got it to work, but didn't change the fact that I was working against what Access was expecting and got random errors too often to make me decide it just wasn't worth it.

Thanks Guys...

I guess it is as you say Banana not without its problems as I have found out...

Will return to opening a form. Thanks for your input..
