Is there a property that can be set to "freeze" a field so that it may not be tabbed over without something being entered?

Thanks

Ed

Yes and No. Not a property directly, but you can use something like the LostFocus event to check if something had been entered, and put the focus back on the field until they do. How ever this does not stop them from clicking (mouse action) on a different field and bypassing the lost focus event. So you usually need to check in the form before update (I think) to see if it has been populated. Then you can cancel the update event, and put focus back to that field.

Well, I already tried the LostFocus event for that control. For some reason, it allows you to tab right on over it. Maybe I am missing something? Aslo, I tried it on the BeforeUpdate event, and when you try to close a blank form, it won't let you without having to click several times on the msgbox that pops up.

The On Exit event might work here, but as FoFa noted, it won't stop the user from clicking onto another control.
