Hi!

I've deployed my Access database (using MS Access 2000) on my network, have setup security and everything is fine. However I noticed that users running Windows NT are having problems... as soon as they log in the database and the startup form I created goes up showing their main menu, Access freezes and they can't do anything but shut down access through task bar.

Users running Windows 2000 or XP have no problems at all!

Any idea of why this is happening??

Thanks!

OK it seems I've solved the problem...

After doing some research on the net on the subject "MS access slow windows nt", I came across what seems to be a fairly common problem, that is running access databases on the network.

Going directly to the point: I needed to update my jet database engine on my windows nt machine. If you need to do that, just go to the microsoft website through the following link:

http://www.microsoft.com/data/download.htm#jet4sp3info

In my case in order to have the most up-to-date version of the jet engine (sp6) I needed to:

- update my MDAC to version 2.6
- update my jet to SP3, and finally
- update my jet sp3 to jet SP6

now everything works fine. :)
