Office 2000 to Office 2003

My office is upgrading from office 2000 to 2003 this weekend. Should I run the

"Tools - Database Utilities - Convert Database - To Access 2002 2003 Format"

I have about 10 small databases various users access. Is it good practice to run this or just keep it in an office 200 format? Thanks.

AFAIK there is no need to convert your db's to the 2002/2003 format unless you make changes and are creating MDE's.

What are MDE's?

And I will make various changes (ex: adding columns, generating reports, new queries) all the time.

When you make an MDE out of an MDB, Access strips out all of the source code and makes it very difficult for the user to do other than what you intended. It is sort of a psudo exe but you still need Access to run the code. If you are not doing that then I would not worry about it at this time.

Really?? Adding Columns?? Do you have your tables normalized?

"normalized" is not a term I am familiar with. I am all self taught so it might be, but I just might know what it is called.

I will try to leave everything as is, try a couple changes with it in the Access 2000 format and see what happens.
