One of my favorite "idiotic" responses. My Access2000 database crashed. I got the pop message asking me to report this error so that Microsoft can help improve Access. I went ahead and did that.
Low and behold another pop message magically appears and asks that if I click on a particular spot that it will give me more information. I took the bait. The pop message informed me that Acess2000 was a discontinued product and is no longer supported. So if I wanted my problem resolved, I should upgrade to the newest version of Access. Fortunately, I was able to control my gag reflex.
What a bunch of crap. First, implying to the user that program flaws would be fixed when they won't be. Second, implying to the user that buying the new version would resolve your problem without providing any evidence that the problem has even fixed!!!
