Hello,
Am struggling big time with placing the Visio Drawing Active X control on a form.

Windows 7 64bit
Office 2013 32bit

In a new Access database, on a new form, I can insert the Visio viewer control but not "Microsoft Visio 15.0 Drawing Control" which errors with: "the OLE server isn't registered. To register the OLE server, reinstall it"

Have tried:

adding references in VBA to:
Microsoft Visio 15.0 Drawing Control Type Library
Microsoft Visio 15.0 Save as Web Type Library
Microsoft Visio 15.0 Type Library
Microsoft Visio Viewer 15.0 Type Library

thorough uninstall and a re-install with elevated priveleges.

some searching led me to try re-registering "Triedit.dll" which registers successfully, but does not fix the problem.

Suspecting my Windows install, I have tried other machines with the same setup, including a wholly fresh install. All have the same problem. So now I am mystified.

Any help much appreciated.

thanks,

Lance Kneeshaw

Suspecting my Windows install,

Never worked that much with Visio, but my first thought would not be a Windows installation problem. First place I would look would be the Visio install and my second thought would be the Office install.

The good news is that both Windows and Office allow "repair" options on the installation kits - or at least they used to. I'm 99% sure Ofc2013 has it. So a re-install might be overkill. Just do "repair" installs.

I don't recall that Visio is part of Office standard kits, so my question is whether you got one of the elevated Office version (Office Professional, e.g.) or whether you got Visio as a separate package. You can do the latter, but it slightly affects the way you would do repairs.

Thankyou,

Following your kind advice, have repaired both Visio & Office (via "Uninstall a program. / Click the Office product you want to repair, and then click Change. / Select Repair...)

Office Professional Plus 2013, version 15.04569.1506
and Visio Professional 2013, version 15.04569.1506

Rebooted.

I have also checked, via Windows Update, that Office is up to date.

But still get the same error when attempting to add the "Microsoft Visio 15.0 Drawing Control"
