Open a form to a specific record from a subform

I'm new to access and VBA so please bare with me. I have a navigation form and on one of the tabs is a form with a subform on it. The subform shows a single record at one time, not a datasheet form. I am trying to open the form and subform to a specific record in the subform from another form embedded in the navigation form. My apologies if am not explaining this correctly. I have been trying to use the BrowseTo command but am having difficulty in getting it to reference the key field in the subform.
