If you're planning to make changes using 2000...I would not convert back to 97. It's amazing how touchy Access is about converting between versions.
I'm not saying don't do it. I'm just saying that if you made changes be ready to loose them or prepare to recreate actions. I've been jumping around between 97, 2000, and XP(2002) because of the different versions that our clients use, but it's not fun to have to convert and loose some of the data or functionality that you're worked so hard to create.
