I like MS Access because, quite frankly it's easy. But I have often found it to be sometimes slow. Additionally the files get large.

I've been playing with VB.Net Express, though I have yet to create and actual application, and it seems easy enough. My next step is trying SQL Express.

If it goes well I will have to use the standard edition (not the express edition) because alot of my info comes from other data sources.

My question is what are peoples exprience with VB.Net. Easy, Hard, Worth moving to, etc...

Thanks,

I like Access too. I've been using it since version 1 was released just after Noah released the animals from the ark.

I've recently started using .net, mostly because customers then don't need to purchase Access and I don't have to worry about which version they are using.

I still mostly use Access tables for my data because I don't see any reason to change but I now have used SQL Express.

You will find that .net is no harder than coding in Access but there are some differences and some of the controls are different, although appearing the same. There is certainly a lot more flexibility in .net and this has the overhead of needing more code than Access to achieve the same ends.

IMHO its six one and half a dozen the other.
