Acc 97
I have a big problem and can't figure out why.
Acc 97 multiuser db running on Windows Terminal Server Sessions.
Basically, there are around 40 users, however only ever 5 users Max in the db at one time. There is a Data Administrator who stays logged in all the time editing current records.
Basically, when data admin are updating a record, occasionally the message "out of memory" appears, hangs for a bit then comes up saying the records is locked by whichever user is logged in.
Whenever investigating this and speaking to the user who is named in the error, they are only ever raising new records so this shouldn't have locked the record the data admin user is editing. Only the data admin user has the ability to edit current submitted records.
I've checked the following
Default record locking => Edited record
Default open mode => Shared
All forms used => No Locks
The questions are,
1) Does anyone know what's causing this error? (Is it just an acc 97 thing?)
2) Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this? (Back End/Front End perhaps, or do I need to set the edit form to Lock Edited record?)
3)When searching ms online for "out of memory" it suggests I may need a service pack. If I upgraded to 2003, would this solve the issue?
So many questions going round my head, I feel dizzy!
