I created an Access database that has a Macro that includes OutPut To Action. I created the database using Access 2007, on Windows XP. Some useres have this and others have Windows 7.
The Output to excel worked on my computer; however, did not work on the Windows 7 computers. I ended up changing the format to .xlsx format, rather than saving in a .xls and changed the Auto Start from Yes to No. This seemed to work and all was happy.
Now, serveral weeks later, the function was not working on any version of the computer-XP or Win7...including my computer that it was created on. I went in and tried to duplicate what fixed it before and it works fine on my computer now, but I have not been able to get it to work on the other computers. Does anyone have any ideas of what to try...and maybe some input as to why it stopped working in the first place. I have seen online some similar problems, but no solutions.

BTW: Split database. BE on network. FE resides on each person's laptop.

Error Message:

The Command or Action 'OUtputTo' isn't available now.
*You may be in a read-only database or an unconverted database from an earlier version.
*The type of object the action applies to isn't currently selected or isn't in the active view.

Use only those commands and macro actions that are currently available for this database.

So, I discoverd that when I hide the tables so that end user can not see the behind the scenes, then it breaks the Output function. Not sure why, but it works now.

If anyone has a solution so that I do not have to have all the tables viewed by the user and have the output function work...much appreciated.
