Hi,

Hope someone can help, I'm trying to distribute a database by sending it out to my colleagues (general office staff, computer literacy drops as low as might expect) as an installer using the Package Distribution Wizard in Access 2010.

Now, it worked wonderfully for the initial install. However, I am now trying to publish an update, the installer seems to run fine, but once everingthing is done, it turns out that it is still using the old version of the database (although there now will be two entries for the database in Programs and Features).

At present, in the wizard, I am loading the saved template from the first install, changing the version number and using a freshly generated GUID (by copying it from a new installation template) for the Product Code (leaving the Upgrade Code alone).

What am I doing wrong?

I found you needed to uninstall the old version first, then delete the FE or the database.
The install then works OK.

Thank you for responding, although I did already know about that, but it defeats the purpose of why I'm trying to package it, which is make it as simple/hands-off as possible ("here's an upgrade, please click this link and keep clicking next/ok when prompted").
