I used Access 2003 developer extensions to create an application with the runtime included to distribute my program and really haven't had a problem until now.
To uninstall the program you need to have the installation disc which contains the msi file. OK.
A friend of mine installed the program, which runs great; but when he tried to uninstall the program, the computer didn't recognize the msi file.
I have repackaged the app, burned a new disc, and it still doesn't recognize the msi file.
I saved the original package which was distributed with that version of .mde file and reburned a copy with the same results.
I have tried the package with and without a cab file with the same results.
He is the administrator on that computer, so I don't think there is a rights issue and this is a stand alone product.
The only other thing I noticed is that he had a trial version of Office installed on his machine. I am not sure this has anything to do with it, but this is the first time a machine couldn't recognize the msi file.
I can't re-install another version until this one is unistalled, by default of the packaging wizard.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Any suggestions?
I have always read that Inno Setup was pretty darn good and rivals the most of the available installers.
Has anyone used Inno Setup distributing the runtime with their product?
Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
