I would very much like to read (from a VB module) the page number at the
bottom of a report when in page preview mode. The page property and page
event won't work because they only work in the forward direction and then
only once. How can I access the page number that is displayed between the
navigation arrows at the bottom of a preview screen? I just want to know
what page people are looking at when they preview my report!

Thanks for any assistance.

Put a text box in the Page Header of your report with this as the control source.

= "This is Page " & [Page] & " of " & [Pages]& " in this report."

I put a textbox in the page header with the data source =[page].

Of course, that will put a page number on my report, but if I try to reference that textbox in my VBA code, I get the following: On page 1 - Textbox.value = 1, Move to page 2 - Textbox.value = 2, Move to page 3 - Textbox.vaue = 3, Move back to page 2 - Textbox.value = 3, Move to page 1, Textbox.value = 3.

Apparently the value of the textbox only changes when the page is printed (or first displayed) When a previous page is displayed, there is no event to trigger a change in the textbox value.

I appologize. I misunderstood your question.
If I remember correctly I had tried what you are trying a while ago. At that time I was unable to find the solution as well. But that was before I was using this forum.
Someone on here will know what to do I'm sure.
Once again I'm sorry for the confusion and hopefully we both will find the solution on here.
