Hello

Slightly of the beaten track i know, but, can anyone tell me if Palm tops can view webpages as normal?

Thanks
Chris

Hey Chris,

I am no authority in this subject but I have been told that all palm browsers are text-only (that info was a bit dated though!). At work, we were told that if you wanted to test your site for anything, run it through Lynx (it's a text only browser).

They are probably on their way however. Here is one in beta version (free download):
http://www.palmblvd.com/software/pc/Vagabond-Wireless-Palm-Browser-2002-4-3-palm-pc-uo1.html

It's got a 10k size limit and doesn't seem to do colour very well, so I don't think many images would make it through. (but, it's a good sign that they're on their way!).

Let me know if you dig up any more info - I'll keep an eye on this post as well!

Again I think it depends on how much you want to spend, for instance I have a Visor handheld which performs the job I want it for - small portable diary with Word and Excel facilities.

A friend of mine has a top-notch Windows XP Compaq handheld which I am sure could and does display web pages as it does streaming color video.
