Paramenrter query using '(' and ')'

I have a string that includes '(' and ')' characters - Access does not seem to like this.

for example, I have a string:Abacavir (Ziagen)__

if I paste it as a criteria, Access changes it to:
Abacavir ("Ziagen")__

I have tried 'Abacavir (Ziagen)' - but with no luck...

Any suggesstions?

did you try double quotes? "Abacavir (Ziagen)" should work ok

never mind - it was another part of the query
