Parameter based queries

I have never used one of these before and need to create which can search from one or a number of facts, is this possible?

if so how?

really stuggling here so if someone wants to take pity and help, i would be most greatful

Parameters can be passed to queries by referencing the control on a form that holds the value required-

"FORMS!YourFormName!YourControlName"

The contol could be a combobox, textbox or the like.

To use a parameter query you need to put a brief request in square brackets [ ] as the criteria in your query

eg instead of typing a town as criteria London type [Enter town] and when you run your query you will be asked to enter a town.

To make this even better you could put Like "*" & [Enter town] & "*" in the criteria - this allows you to just type a few letters of the town and it will find any town containing the letters that you type.
