Parameter Query calls too much

I have a query that is used for a report. This report is a bar graph of faults that have occured. In the query I use a field FaultDate and in the criteria I have specified the following:

Between [Start] And [Finish]

Now when I open the report I get a dialog for start...and then one for finish...then all of a sudden it asks me again start and then finish...

it goes through 2 times rather than once. I cant find the problem because its one single graph, one single report, one single criteria for the date.

Whats wrong with this ?

It looks like you set the Record Source for your form to the query as weel as the record source for your graph on that form to the underlying query.
You need to set the record source to the graph not the form and that should atke care of it.

Umm this is not a form...and no the only recordsource I have set is on the actual graph not on the entire report.

Real weird...but i recreated the report and didnt put in the page numbers on the report and it worked fine. I then placed [Page]...blah blah blah at the bottom of the report and I still get it asking for the parameter twice. I got rid of it again and it doesnt show the parameter twice...weird. I guess there is no need to display the page since it is only one page...but it works now. Talk abotu a quirk.

Same stuff for reports. Your report is bound to a table or query when you create it from scratch or with the wizard (even if the form properties don't show anything in the row source). At the same time it creates a query "behind" the graph. Go to Design View, click on the graph and click on the ... of the row source. If you have your date criteria set here as well as in the query, you will prompted twice to set the criteria. Check your query in queries section and the one "behind" the graph.
Hope this helps.

I got it working...but again this was ONLY behind the graph not the entire report.

How else would it now ? Huh...its a page number...im asking for the criteria once...why does the page number matter.

If you ask me thats plain ol stupid...
