Hey,

I am creating a database but i wish to be able to click on a button a switchboard which will give me an option to Type in someones name, then it will find (if it exists) thier record and show me a FORM which contains thier record.

I am trying to do this by using a macro to place on the switchboard... how can i make this?

My idea is that first it opens the Form, ive got that far.
But now i dont know how to tell it to perform the good old `control+f` within the form to show a certain entry.

Dam my A-Level Coursework

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Have your form pointed to a query. In the Query in the Criteria Line of your column put in a parameter. The Parameter should look something like this. [Enter Name]

Try these Macros out:

OpenForm
GotoControl
FindRecord

Fill out the Arguements for each macro. For OpenForm, fill in the arguments as to what form you want to open to search for the record. For GotoControl fill out the name of the field where the record is located and for FindRecord, enter the name of the field on your switchboard that you want to search for. You need to enter it as =[NameofField] in the where clause. Good luck
Gregg
