Passing parameter to report and dsum

Just to tell you, I'm a complete newbie with no programming notion...I have no problem passing a parameter to generate a report but I would also like to use that same parameter inside a dsum function to be used as my criteria.

What would be the proper syntax for that dsum function ?

You didn't mention how you're passing a parameter to the report, so here's some general guidelines on DSum() syntax:

My report was built from a query where I just put ''Enter the customer's name ?'' between brackets in the grid on the criteria's line.

Personally I would use a form to gather user input, in which case both could use it. You can try adding a textbox on the report with a control source of:

=[Enter the customer's name ?]

where the text exactly matches the text in the query. Then point your DSum() criteria to that textbox. No guarantees, as I don't know if the textbox will get the value in time for the DSum().
