Pasting data into data sheet

Can anyone help me, is there a way to copy a date from one field and paste it into a load more beneth it. In other words I have a date field and I want to paste todays date into 300 beneth the first line, can this be done.

At the moment if I copy two dates, it will only paste another two date beneth.

Are those 300 "lines" already records?

Sorry yes they are, basically I have 300 hundread people that letters are being sent to and i want to mass fill the date sent field for those 300 records.
