Hello all.

I'd like to create a "game" of sorts for my grandkids in which a picture is displayed in one control, and a multiple-choice question selection is available for them to guess the definition, related word, description, etc... Later, they'll have to type in the 'answer' without prompting of a displayed choice. In the end, I see a form in which there's multiple questions they answer on one subject. I'm doing this to help them with their reading, learning words, spelling, etc. (I have a math equivalent to this in excel, where random numbers are shown and they have to add them up, or do some other operation, and type in the answer.)

For example, I might show a picture of a horse and have a question that says "Where does this animal live?" with four possible answers. Then, if they get it right, they get some positive feedback indicator in the form such as a happy face image or the like.

I think I can probably work through everything except the storage and display of the picture, and relating that to a particular question and answer. Any help with the image is very appreciated!

Are you using Access 2007 as image handling is vastly improved. If not, I can give you the long hand method.

I'm actually using 2010. Thanks for any help!

This is how I would approach your Pictures. Let's take the horse.

You can create the images in one directory or sub-directory:

Horse1.jpg Horse2.jpg etc or
Horse/1jpg Horse/2.jpg etc

Assuming your images are kept in C:\Databases\Images\

In a Query you should be able to construct:

ImageFile1 = "C:\Databases\Images\" & [Question] & "1.jpg"
ImageFile2 = "C:\Databases\Images\" & [Question] & "2.jpg" etc

Or

ImageFile1 = "C:\Databases\Images\" & [Question] & "\1.jpg"
ImageFile2 = "C:\Databases\Images\" & [Question] & "\2.jpg" etc

Then create a continous Form with

ImageControl1, ImageControl2 with a ControlSource =[ImageFile1], =[ImageFile2]
