I wonder if some kind soul might be able to help/advise me on a pivot table design? I want to display the results of a query as a pivot table but my data is all text and I can not work out how to remove the sub total and grand total fields in the pivot table design.
I have 14 columns returned in my query results which are
Scientific Name (the scientific name of the species)
Common Name (the common name of the species)
Class
Population or Individual Level
Left or Right
Sex Bias
Age Bias
Author (The Author of an academic paper)
Title (The title of the paper)
Journal (Which Journal it is in)
Volume
Issue
Page Number
Notes
While each is species is unique, that species can have many different academic papers attached. At the moment If I have more then one paper listed, the species information is also repeated as a separate record.
What I am trying to achieve is a table that show the Species information (ie the first 7 columns only once) and then shows all the authors, papers etc associated with that particular species. From my limited knowledge I think that a pivot table is the best way of showing this but I am having trouble working out it's design.
I am using Access 2007
