I have a column in excell which contains names & surnames eg. Robert Smith
Is there a way of seperating the first name & surname into 2 seperate columns?

left() mid() right() and instr() should do the trick

Or, alternatively, select the column, open the 'Data' menu, select, text to columns, use the delimited option with the space character as your delimiter.

Remember to insert a column to the right of the "names" column before you start.
