Ok this is what i want, a query which will result in either saying, "In Stock" or "Not In Stock". So basically in normal english i want: If [Quantity Of Stock] equals or is more than 1, print "In Stock" otherwise print "Not in Stock".

I dont really know how to put it into code that access will understand.

Cheers in advanced!

Where do you get the stock value from? A table? if so build a query with this is as a calculated column:

Iif([StockValue]<=0,"Out","In")

However,to store a static stock value is inefficient as it should be a reliable function of your stock in and stock out tables. By combining these together you can establish the stock level and thus whether they are 'in' or 'out'. Additionally, you may need to consider setting up some floor/ceiling warning fields so you can also say "running out of stock" or "well over efficient stock".

Witter over.

thanks for the help people, i get the value from a table, which holds stock information, quantity in stock, description etc. The query is for my college assignment, so it doesnt have to be really complicated.
