Can anyone teach me how to write an expression in expression builder so that when I click the [Check Out] button in the Check Out form, a field [Status] in the query is changed to available???????????

Is the query the recordsource of your Check Out form? If so, in the OnClick event of your button, you could just do me.Status= and whatever value you want. If you are using yes/no field, -1 is yes, 0 is no.

No.. the record source is a completely different query... i already have a macro for the on click event of the check out button which saves the record and closes the checkout form

Not really understanding the problem. You are writing a point-of sale db?
How will the db know whether an item is available or not just because I click "checkout" (without checking the inventory 1st)? How about a little info about what you're trying to do?
