here it is the project:
Develop a MS Access database to be used for the production of a canadian payroll for a medium-sized organization (100 to 500 employees).
The database should allow for the production of standard payroll functions;
IE.: pay checks, record of employment reports, payroll register, G/L distribution of
payroll costs, T4’s(the form that the employers give at the end of the fiscal year with all employee ‘s income and deductions), Y-T-D totals, various earnings and deductions, etc.
Functions concerning personnel matters such as benefits, vacation time, skills inventory, etc. are required only for monetary issues.
IE.: allow for deduction of benefit premiums but ignore the storing of information
concerning drug reimbursement claims, eye glass cost reimbursement, etc.
allow for calculation and payment of vacation pay but ignore the storing of
information concerning number of days entitled or taken.
The application software for the production of a payroll IS NOT REQUIRED.
The databases must be designed with data integrity and flexibility as your primary concerns. The design should allow for growth to possibly exceed 500 employees, if it were implemented.
