Here's the deal. I have been working on a project (I am an intern at a large company) for Access 2003. I have been coding it and reworking it and I just finished it yesterday...or so I thought. Apparently my superiors who are running the project are scrapping EVERYTHING that I did because they don't like the forms to directly connect to the tables. I have never heard anyone say this before in my life before these people at work.

Now they are having me do "exercises" to "strengthen my skillset". Fine...whatever, but it is stuff that I have never even thought about, let alone know how to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

How do you call a recordset? I have to populate a textbox with the first record in a recordset. Any guidance?

Well, the good news is you're being paid to learn. There were some thoughts on that thread to get you started, plus seaching here on "recordset" should turn up all kinds of sample code.

I'm not being paid to learn this. I'm being paid to do other stuff while still trying to find some time to work on this. If this was an IT internship I wouldn't care, but it's not. It's an accounting internship where my assistance was requested with this on top of my other duties.

As a reformed accountant, I can assure you that you are enhancing your value as an accountant by learning Access (and Excel). My boss, a CPA and the company's CFO, loves me for the time I save her with those skills. I've taken countless things that took her hours of reconciling by hand and done it in a couple of minutes.
