When I would read something like this in the past and I would often think that there are some people that just can’t be rehabilitated, or sometimes I wondered if our system was not using the right approach to rehabilitate. As I grow old and senile I wonder now if someone like him, wants to be in prison so there for wanted to get arrested. Any thoughts?

Lots of people do feel more secure while staying at club fed: meals prepared for them, laundry service, lots of tasks to leasurely while the time away, no rent, no daily commute to the rat race, dependent on where they are incarcerated they can even complete tuition free higher education, job training, etc...

It also tells me how badly we need to legalize weed for personal use and do away with the federal war on drugs and leave it as a state issue. We need more room in the prisons for morons like this.

Wouldn't the electric chair be more cost effective?

I don't know... ask all of the now proven innocent people who have been put to death or have been on death row in Texas over the last 20 years.

Besides, who are you suggesting be put to death? Personal marijuana users??

To start with it was a meager attempt at humor, but it certainly would not be for just minor crimes, weed otherwise. However, for habitual offenders of murder where there is no doubt I could see myself voting it.

If there is EVER doubt, then the person shouldn't be convicted to begin with. That is why we have reasonable doubt. Unfortunately, people have been convicted and spent decades in jail, only to be released when newer forensics clears them of the crime. This should NEVER happen. I would rather see 10 people that are guilty go free than 1 person who is innocent end up in jail for something they didn't do.

I am talking only murder. Have you not seen videos of people committing the murder, many eye witnesses of murders, and confession?

Confessed murders are obvious. Of course, usually they get to plead out and not receive the death penalty.

Sad but true.

Notice I did not included ra**. Even before DNA testing I thought innocent guys were going to jail.

Mark Chapman should never be in jail.

He should have been thrown to the Beatles fans for them to inflict their own punishment, then his body should have been fed to piranha fish for their tea.

I like your thinking!!!!!!!

Im not sure if this happens in the states, but in the UK sex offenders are kept out of the general prison population, they have a separate part of the prisons for these scumbags. IMHO, they should be thrown in with the rest of the inmates. Not really sure why we should protect these animals.

One bullet to the base of the skull and cull all the usable organs for those more deserving of an extended life and the benefits of improved health.
Too bad if the wrong person might accidentally get the final justice, but statistically that would not happen as often as a drunk driver killing someone or perhaps even a stupid driver killing someone.

How true, but when someone is juiced up with adrenalin it is not as easy as hitting a bulls eye on the range. In fact I never did as well in completion as I did when by myself.
