Problem in editing records on a network

I have question about editing data on networks. There is a table which has clients names and phone numbers and a field called "Contacted".

The editing is done through forms.

There will be different people editing the records. Now if two people (for example) are contacting a client and if the first person is on record 3 then when the second person opens the same form ithrough his/her terminal the record should be the next record for editing ie record 4. Would apprecate help as to how this could be done. Thanks.

Don't know completely sure, but I think autoincrease does take care of this...

If not, create and SAVE a record to the DB on the moment a user begins editing record 3... As soon the user finished editing, save the other fields into the record (UPDATE). This way you will keep your data chronological. Because when a 2nd user begins editing record 4 at the time 3 isn't fininshed, the DB has got a saved record 3.
