hi !I have created my own report in Microsoft Excel, i have creaded my own
database in Access as well but the problem is- i have been looking for help
everywhere- i have checked all options in Access and Excel too - NOTHING :-)
Ok back to the point: Ive got database (Access) where i put all details about
customers: name, street, post code and "telephone number". Than ive got a new
window where i put only telephone number and all details will be shown in
report that i had created before. However, it doesnt work ! Ive got something
like =Query!REF, and nothing so what should i do than. Meanwhile, its gonna b
only one report! Everytime i put a custumer number, all details will be shown
in the same report and are going to be save in query, any sugestions ?

Can you post a sample database of what you have so far, I know your trying your best to explain, but it will be easier to see a sample.

you mention Excel and Access but I don't follow exactly what your goal is. Your Tables store the data and queries are used to manipulate the output based on tables ( or even other queries).. Your report can use a table or a query as it's control source.

You can filter the data output for reports by binding the report to a query.. the query can be an exact duplcate of the table but it allows you to restrict data....

search this site for topics like "Filter by form"

To create a report by telephone number, you will have to create a query of the table with the information. In the criteria area of telephone number put [ENTER TELEPHONE NUMBER]. This will give you a pop up window for you to fill in the number for your report. Save this query and then create a report from that query to view the details for the phone number. Hope this helps.

this guy posted in April and has not returned since ( only one post) so I don't think we can help...probably figured it out.

Using the square brackets is good for simple criteria, but the better way is to use a form and use a control (textbox or combo) to enter the criteria...then place the name of your control in the criteria with this syntax... Forms!FormName!ControlName then open query/report via a button on form.
