Problem with subreport

I have 2 reports that both have a user input StartDate and EndDate.
Both reports use the same date ranges. The both work fine and do report the correct data.

I have a report#2 in a subreport in report#1.

I think it created a separate query, because I now get 3 date range pop-ups. This in itself is not overly a big deal (I would like a way to combine them), but my subreport is blank.

I can not figure out why the subreport has no data.

Link both Reports on a common field.

1. Click on the Sub-Report in Design view.
2. Display its Property Sheet.
3. Select the common Field Name in the Master Field Name Property
4. Select the field name from the Sub-Report source in the Child Field Property.

That has already been verified as correct.
Which is why I don't understand why it is not working properly.
