hi,
i have set startup options for my dbase by going into Tools then Startup. I changed it so it doesnt show the tables etc, and shows only a form. i have also set a password on it.
i know the way to edit a dbase with startup options is to hold down the shift key and then open it. however, i have got a password and it doesnt let me. i can see my form which it is supposed to open, however, i need to edit the table contents now.
i hope someone can help me. i've gotta show it to my IT teach 2moro!!!

thank you in advance :o

Suggest you start a new database and leave it empty of everything. Then go into you password protected database, reset the Start up Properties and then export all items to the new database and leave the passord off. There are many gotchas for the unwary. Concentrate on building a solid application first and the think about the security

A secure rubbish database is not a lot of good to anybody

Hum...

I think I would start defining as much of the security model as I could while developing the data model...

But in this case, I doubt the teacher expects such a complex solution :p

i got it. i had to rightclick on the toolbar at the top, customize, then drag and drop things like startup onto the toolbar. thanks

Hold down the shift key while you click okay on the password box.
