i have been developing a db at home for people to use at work. it has been going well, until more recently. most of the time when i open the db at work and i've made changes to it at home, there have been problems. all sorts of things.

i will give an example of the most recent:

i havean attendance calander, and it works fine at home, and when i try to run it at work i get the following error

Code:
Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
Me![scrCDate] = DateSerial(Year([COLOR="Yellow"]Date[/COLOR]), Month(Date), 1)
Me![scrMonth] = Format(Date, "mmmm")
Me![scrYear] = Format(Date, "yyyy")
End Sub

Compile error: cant find project or library

i cant understand why i'm having so many problems, they are both using access 2003 btw.

Please help!!!!!

Hi,

Check for missing references, 9 times out of 10 i find it to be mscomct2.ocx that is not installed or registered but there could be other references missing.

Garry

Missing references

To check for missing references.

Open a form in design view (one which has an event procedure in it)
Open the event procedure and then click Tools > References
A list should then appear. if any are missing it will say so.

If you have any missing make a note of which ones and then post back.

Cheers Bob,

I couldnt remember the missing reference (Mscomctl.ocx) related to DATE. I could only remember MSCOMCT2.ocx being related to the Date/Time Picker.

Once again cheers.

Garry

its says MISSING: CalAdapter1.1 Type library.

thanks for the help by the way.

also another problem is on a form with a graph on it, and when i open it i get the error
Function is not available in expressions in query expression '(Format([fldDate],"dd mm yy"))'.

this doesn't happen when i open it on my computer, but it does at work.

thanks

Adam

Never heard of this one. Bob might be able to shine some light on it.

I would try deselecting it and trying to run your DB again.

Garry

Where did you get the calander from that you mentioned in your original post?

You probably used an ActiveX Calendar (or something associated with it) and it is installed from some other program at work and you don't have that program at home.
