I have a database that has security that is working too well. User groups are set up to allow people to access areas that are necessary to their job, but not other areas. All worked fine until something happened to (what I can best determine) the mdw file.
Now, all users have been deleted with the exception of the Admin user. Permissions say that the user is a member of the Admins group, but there are no admin permissions, and the Admin user cannot set any. New users can be created, but permissions can not be set.
I've tried to create a new database and import the files over, but because of the permissions, protected tables and forms cannot be imported.
I've also tried copying a system.mdw file over from a workstation that doesn't use the database, but still found the same issue.
Is there a way to fix this type of issue and reset a database to a non-secure state?
