Iam interested in linking or embedding word and excel files. From microsoft's knowledge base for this subject(Q158929)I copied the code into a new database and carefully followed their instructions but when I click the cmd button I get this error: 2101 - The setting is not valid for this property. I can email the 3 files if anyone needs them. Thanks.

The OLE capabilities of ACCESS have a very big disadvantage: Your database might explode. I had the (bad) luck that different clients asked me to integrate WORD documents and graphic files into an existing ACCESS app. It nearly drove me mad but I had the luck to find a tip in a discussion for a special ACCESS software (Wizards)that solve all these problems (www.unsoftwareag.com). I finally decided to purchase them (fortunately) since all my problems have been solved in just 1 (one) hour. Without, I would have definitely lost at least two clients!

Thanks for the tip. Before buying those packages can anyone else recommend a 3rd party solution?

From time to time, I have wanted to post word documents into access. If the document is static and does not change I have had success by copying and pasting into a label box on a form. I then create this as a sub - form and give my user some control over the subform by scrolling.
