Prompt if duplicate

Hello,

I have a form (record source qryPermits) with a field (NoticeID named txtNoticeID) that seldom but under certain conditions may contain duplicates. If so, I want a prompt to appear so the operator is aware this is a duplicate entry. I assume I code something on the control’s AfterUpdate however, no luck. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
