Protecting Deployed Application from Copying

Hi

I need to deploy my Access Application but I want to protect it from being copied and being used by unauthorised users.

I know how many users are intended to use it and I suppose I could capture their login username, but are there any other ways of protecting it ?

It all depends on tight you want to make it or the skills acquired to code it.

First thing you need to do is draw up a list of what you want the authorised user to do during the first installation
What to check for in case they try and repeat the installation
what it need to check for before commencing the installation
what is does after the installation has been completed.

Then take a look at it from the unauthised users point of view.

How are you going to identify that they have a pirate or borrowed copy of the software?
Is the installation machine specfic?

Hi david

Initially I would install this on a single server for them so i wouldnt be expecting them to do anything themselves. Eventually Id like to create a Web Based version of the application so it can be used by many users across the country.
