Hello Everyone.

Can anyone tell me what to do when it comes to queries.

I have a table of products and these products prices can change at anytime. Basically i want the prices to stay the same for claims already raised but anything created after that point is set as the new price.

To say it another way if i have sent a bill out for £/$100 2012 for a wheel and then in 2013 the wheel is now £/$120 i dont want all previous claims to change, only new ones...am i making any sense? Do i do this with a query to keep the history of all old claims?

Thanks in advance,
Hope someone can help:banghead:

The most common solution is probably to save the price with the transaction. Your 2012 transaction would have the 100 price saved with it, the 2013 transaction would have 120.

So how would i link the claim i am creating to look at the 2012 or 2013 product list trying to automate as much as possible? one claim can have several materials to it?

You haven't posted your table layout, but in an invoice application there would be an invoice header table and an invoice details table with records for each product on the invoice. That details table would include a field for price, populated when the user entered the product, perhaps like the second method here:
