Question about Year

I have a report which has details of the projects. I have them sorted by the year they were done and i was wondering can you the different years on seperate pages

eg

say 2004 had 4 projects that be on pg1
2005 had 20 projects that be on pg2 and 3
2006 had 80 projects be on pg4,5,6,,7etc

is this possible?

On the query that the report is bound to, add a field that just shows year of project (unless this already exists).
You can then group by this field on the report, changing properties to force new pages before/after this field changes value if required

to edit an existing report

either right click the report and select sorting and grouping, or click the icon in the icon bar.

you can select the sort order here - in your case year. you can then determnie whether you have a header and/or footer for the new sort group, so you could eg put a large heading in with the year number for the new year. You can also determine whether this is a page break before/after etc in both header and footer.

you can do this at design stage, but easy to add afterwards. if you use the wizard and do it at design stage you get a slightly differently formatted report

you can change it afterwards anyway, its just a matter of your preferred layout
