I was gonna put this in the moderators forum but I wasn't sure of the "visibility" of that forum and I wanted to get some feedback from other members so I'll post it here and if Jon/Mile want to move it with a link to it from here that would be swell
My Question:
Would it be possible, or does anyone think its a good idea, to have a sticky thread on this forum (and the others for that matter) with the title "Please Read Before Posting" (or something to that effect) that kind of details guidlines and reccommendations for new posters like proper post names (not PLEASE HELP! or URGENT), posting guideline, and - my biggest pet peeve - the need to use the SEARCH FUNCTION before posting a topic. I try to jump on these boards throughout the day and give back to the place where I got a lot of education/intro on Access programming (and still do
) but it seems as though most of the time my posts lately consist of "Please search forum", "Please search using this keyword","Try searching","etc... as this is a lost artform or something. I don't think its malicious mass-posting for the most part from many of the new users I just think there is a lack of understanding how powerful the search function on this forum is as a tool for learning...
I am curious to see what others think and what the mods think as well... Also - Kudos to Mile/Jon for a great forum and for the nice new editions (code/sample forums)
Regards,
Kev
