Can somebody just tell me what is up with this line please.

namevalue = Form!frm_otherusersabsentform!Combo32.Text


it comes up with the error 'cannot find the field'

You can refer to controls on forms in various ways, the one I tend to use, when needed, is:

Forms("YourFormName")("YourControlName")
