While traveling today in North Carolina, we made a rest stop and were greeted by the image below. Naturally, we looked for the wet spot in the floor so that we would not slip. What is odd about the image?
For those not in the US, this is one of the state (as in the state of Virginia) managed public rest stops along major traveled highway routes, such as the interstate highway system.
Hint and spoiler:
The "wet spot" is amazingly the outline of the state just south of Virginia. I wondered why the floor wasn't actually wet. Took me a long long while to figure it out, even though we live there. Some of us are just plain slow and clueless.
