I've just attempted to develop my first Access database which I've tested and seems to work well. I've copied it to use at another location but can only open in "read only", eliminating the ability to do further development or editing. How can I copy or open this database at another location?
Thanks,
EP

This might be obvious but I am am going to ask anyway - did you try right clicking the database and going to properties to make sure 'read only' is not selected?

Another thing is you may have set up security that gives write access to certain profiles only. However I can rule this out because you are new to databases.

Have you copied it onto a CD or DVD? This always changes the file property to read only. You can change it back once you've reinstalled it to a read/write disk.
